Communication faults with the Ewon Gateway

In case it is not possible to access the HMI from talk2web, there is possibly lost communication with the Ewon. For remedy the following things can be checked and corrected:

Is the Ewon module powered ON?

·         Measure the voltage on the power supply from the 24v transformer and make sure it is correct according to electrical drawings.

·         Check for any blown fuses in the cabinet. Re-activate them if necessary.

Is the ethernet cable between the Festo configuration and Filter System connected correctly according to electrical drawings?

·         One end of the cable is connected to the Ewon in port 4?

·         The other end is connected to Ethernet switch in the Filter System cabinet?

 

 

·         Correct the cables according to electrical drawings.

 

 

 

 

Is there communication light (Green LED blinking) where the ethernet cable is connected?

·         Make sure the cable is properly connected in the port.

·         Check for any loose connection in cable and/or port by adjusting the cable in the port. Re-install the cable in another port on the ethernet switch if loose connection is found.

·         Check the cable for any faults with a network tester and replace cable if faults are found.

·         Measure the voltage on the ethernet switch to make sure there is power on it. Replace switch if power supply is ok according to electrical drawings.

NB it is important that the green LED is

blinking, as this indicates there is communication exchange.
